Resorts World™ Sentosa is an integrated resort experience that vows to keep families enthralled with the highlights of the isand – Universal Studios Singapore, Marine Life Park which includes the S.E.A Aquarium, the Adventure Cove Waterpark which provides fun with its waterslides, and Dolphin Island!
The Requirement
The hypothetical client approached with a request to redesign a new handheld folder type map of the island. So far their physical map proved to be of a single language, overly colourful, difficult to read font and of a larger dimension when closed.
My proposed map design aimed to combine their physical map and digital map, make it bilingual and further informative. I also aimed to use a toned down but playful colour pallette.
Folder Construction
After careful research and breakup of information architecture, a basic layout was created for the pocket friendly folder. The overall dimensions is to be of A3 size when completely opened up.
Font selected: Noto Sans
Noto sans is easily visible, the letters do not cause too much of a fuss and is easy to read.
The font has 6 distinctive weights in 2 languages which will be useful for the map.
